Frequently Asked Questions

  • Are all items designed by the 3D Printing Studio team?

All items showcased on our site have been printed by 3D Printing Studio but, since customers have the option to provide their own 3D designs, not all of the items have been designed by our team.

  • Can I provide my own designs?

Absolutely. We provide independent design and printing services. If you choose to provide your own design, we will verify whether or not it can be printed successfully. If it can, we will begin discussing your print requirements with you.

  • How many times can I revise my design?

If we are creating a design for you, we will work with you to make revisions to your design. There is no limit to the number of revisions that we can make for you. Once you are happy with the design, we will send you the 3D model file and the design will be considered complete. After this point, any more revisions requested will be considered as a new project.

  • Will my designs be kept confidential?

All designs discussed with and created by the 3D Printing Studio team will be kept completely confidential, starting from the enquiry stage. Nothing will be discussed with any third parties.

  • What is your returns policy?

A return of the product can be requested if it is received in poor condition or damaged.

As we provide a bespoke design and printing service, returns will not be accepted based on the need for further alterations to the design or print requirements.

  • Can I get a full refund?

If a product is received in poor condition or damaged, we will provide a refund once the item(s) have been returned in the condition that they were received by the customer.

A full refund will be provided if the above conditions are met and the 3D design has not been created by 3D Printing Studio.

If the design has been created by 3D Printing Studio, the costs attributed to the design service will be deducted from the total refund amount. The customer will be provided with the completed 3D design in .stl format.

  • How can I get in touch if I have a problem with my item?

If you have any problems with your item, please get in touch with our support team by emailing support@3dprintingstudio.co.uk.

  • Are there any size limitations on what can be produced?

There is an inherent size limitation for 3D prints that is dictated by the build volume of the printer being used. Our printers have a maximum build volume of 40x40x50cm (LxWxH).

However, it is possible to create finalised products that are larger than this volume through various techniques that can be discussed and incorporated at the design stage. These will allow the assembled product to be larger than the maximum build volume.

  • Are there any limitations on the types of products that you produce?

We do not produce any products that are required to be food-safe, or products that are expected to be used by young children.

This is because there are microscopic cracks inherent in an FDM print which may trap dirt and bacteria. Even a thorough cleaning of the product may not ensure that all the dirt or bacteria has been removed, and for this reason we do not recommend 3D printed objects for children that may put the items in their mouths.

  • What type of payment methods do you accept?

We request that payments be made via bank transfer. All the relevant details will be provided in your invoice.

  • When will I be expected to pay for the relevant service(s)?

You can expect to receive an invoice when your design has been finalised and / or when your print requirements have been confirmed.

If you are providing us with a 3D model, you will not receive an invoice for the design stage.

  • What are your business hours?
